NCAA #3

well now its nearing the end of the first half. I thought i would be cheering for duke but now whenever butler scores it seems like i start to cheer more than when duke scores. Because i am not a huge fan of either team, i dont care all that much who wins but now I think i am pulling for butler.

NCAA...again

Well, the game has staarted and now I have no idea who i want to win. Butler is the under dog from indiana but Duke is just a really good team. Butler has started off slow on the floor but is doing well from the 3 point line. Duke is currently up 16-13. it should prove to be a very interesting game.

NCAA

Not much to say about the hawks but I am pretty excited for the butler/duke game. I dont really know who to root for, but I guess I'll pull for duke. They are a really good team and I feel like they deserve the win tonight.

Hawks put out the flames

Hello and Happy Easter! Today the hawks faced off agaoinst the flames. After a great 4 to 1 win, the hawks clinched the division. Niemi had a great game in the goal. I am very hapy to say that it seems as though niemi will be the playoff starter and huet will be warming the bench. The hawks are currently in second in the western conference, just a few points behind the sharks. As the season comes to a close, the games should bring a lot of excitement.Until next time, GO HAWKS!

blackhawks vs. wild/ rock

The hawks finally pulled it together as they beat the wild 4-0. Niemi had a great shutout and kopecky had 2 goals. On a side note i was on itunes today. I love going on and just looking for cool songs to buy. I like classic rock from the 60s and 70s best and i bought some songs by a band named free. Theyre famous for their song "All Right Now" but i never realized that their other stuff was as good(in my opinion). If you like the same genre of music check them out because they are pretty good. Most of you prrobably like current music though, so dont bother cuz you'll probably just think im crazy for liking it. I cant stand rap. I ithink its terrible. I know that post was pretty random but im getting tired of writing about the blackhawks.

Bues

today the Hawks lost to the St. Louis Blues. We should have won this game but our troubles continue to show as we near the playoffs.
We lost 4-2 as Marian Hossa lead the way with a goal and Jonothan Towes had two assists.
Our starting goalie Annti Niemi had 26 saves in the loss.
If we want to stand a chance in the playoffs we need to gain some momentum and continue to put goals on the scoreboard.
Tomorrow we will play the Minnesota Wild. I hope we can pull it together. Until next time, GO HAWKS!!!

Playoffs Approaching

As of now, the hawks are in 3rd place in the western conference. The top 8 teams advance, so we have already assured ourself a playoff spot. we may end up playing the Detroit Red Wings, our biggest rivals. Although the Wings started off somewhat slow, they have started to pick up the pace. The wings were plagued by injury earlier on, but now with a healthy team, they are extremely dangerous. Either way, it should be a very interesting playoffs.

Spring Break

I had a pretty cool spring break. The highlights of my break were:
-Going to the Chi-Town shooters games with my friends( they're a minor leauge hockey team in Dyer)
-playing basketball and street hockey with my friends
-went to Turkey Run
-hung out at church with my friends

I did much more but I cant list everything.
Overall, I really enjoyed my break.

Columbus

The Columbus Blue jackets were facing off against the hawks on sunday and unfortunately, the hawks were shut down. The Jackets are not a very good team but the hawks have been struggling lately. we were down by 1 going into the third but columbus scored in the last minute to seal the game. Tonight we play the Blues. We need to win the game tonight to get back on a roll.

Podcast

Today, me and my friend Zach had to make a podcast for our journalism class. It was pretty cool to make and just the thought of having my own podcast on the internet is pretty cool. We talked about spring training and the upcoming baseball season. I really like baseball (its my favorite sport to foolow) so it was a great option for our podcast. It wasnt nearly as complicated as I had imagined either. Im looking forward to the season to start and watching my favorite team, the cubs, but until now, go Hawks!

Brian Cambell

Well Alex Ovechkin has been suspended for two games after hitting Hawks defenseman Brian Cambell. Wow. The Capitals will really miss him in the next games.

I cant believe it. Blackhawks were up 3 to 0 going into the final period. But then in a matter of 2 min and 16 seconds, the game changed dramatically.
Anyways lets start things off from the beginning. Jonothan Towes started off the game by scoring two goals in the first period. We were able to hold the Capitals to no goals through the first after scoring machine Alex Ovechkin was thrown out after shoving Blackhawks defenseman Brian Cambell into the boards. Although it was a nasty hit, I do not think it was bad enough to kick him out of the game.
In the second period, John Madden scored as he redirected a pass into the goal.
In the third the Capitals scored three goals. Unbelievable.
Then in overtime the Caps were the first to score, making them the winners. It was a great game but because of a collapse of defense and goal keeping, they lost the second game in a row.

Blackhawks vs. Flyers

Its the final period. Blackhawks are playing the in phili vs. the flyers. The hawks were up 2-1 with 2 minutes remaining when the flyers put the puck behind the goalie to tie the score at two.
The game seemed like it would lead to overtime. As the flyers skated down the ice with a few seconds left, the game had an uunbelievable turn. A perfect pass was sent to a Flyer, and he put it into the goal...with 2 seconds left. I couldnt believe it. We were definitely the favorite in this match up, but again(becuse of a lack of a good goalie) we lost. Thank you Huet.
Today we play the Washington Caitals, the best team in the nhl. Lead by Alex Ovechkin, the Capitals are an offensive powehouse and will give Huet a lot of troubles in the goal. If we want to stand any chance winning this game, we need to turn to our back up goalie. I hope for the best, but it will be tough to pull through after yesterdays loss. Either way, it should be a good game.

Chicago Blackhawks

Hi. My name is Peter. I have never done a blog before, so to start things off Ill talk about one of my favorite sports teams, the Chicago Blackhawks. Theyre a really great team, and they are doing really well this season. They are in first place in their division and are the third best team in the nhl. If they can keep it up, they have a good chance of winning the Stanley Cup.
They have a lot of really good players including Olympians Patrick Kane, Duncan Kieth, Jonothan Towes, and my favorite player, Marian Hossa. However, the team does contain one player who I feel is completely terrible- Cristobal Huet. Huet is the teams goalie and unfortunately has caused the team to lose many games. If he can keep it together throughout the play-offs, Ill be shocked, but very happpy.
